What we do
We are a non-profit animal rescue organization run exclusively by volunteers. All of our animals are housed in foster homes to help promote a stable, loving environment until they can find their perfect new permanent home. Our purpose is to reduce the stray population and need for healthy animal euthanasia through spay/neuter programs, education, and promotion of respect for the furry creatures that share our lives.

Donations of your time are always welcome. We are always looking for good foster homes (we really need these), help with transports, fundraising, etc. Even a few hours a month can make a difference. If you think you would like to help out, please write or email. Cash donations are always gratefully accepted, too! Thank you!

Bargain kitten?
Never adopt a kitten from a pet store. Most are bred in catteries just like dogs are at puppy mills. Get a kitten that is very socialized and does not live in a cage. If you think you are getting a good "deal" by adopting a kitten for $5 from the newspaper you should consult a veterinarian for the costs of being a responsible owner. Those costs should include a vet exam, a feline leukemia test, 3 distemper shots, rabies shot, and the spay for females and neuter for male kittens. At most vets in the metro area your $5 kitten will be costing you over $300! Please ask questions and compare before you adopt a kitten.

All of our cats and kittens live in foster homes and are very socialized. They have been vet checked, feline leukemia/fiv tested negative, and have required shots. All cats over 6 months of age have been spayed or neutered. All kittens under 6 months receive a certificate for a FREE spay/neuter included in the adoption fee. All cats and kittens come with a "welcome" pack including free food, blanket, coupons, treats, and discounts on pet supplies at Pet Supplies Plus 1800 County Road 42 West, Burnsville, MN 55337-6206.

Foster Homes Needed
We are in need of foster homes for adult cats. We have many very friendly cats that just need to put in a home situation so that we know more about what they need for a permanent home. All food, cat litter and medical care is provided by Rainbow Animal Rescue. Please call Sue at 952-226-6505 to see if your home situation will work for one of these great cats. You just need to provide the love and attention!

Volunteers Needed
Love cats and kittens? Rainbow Rescue needs volunteers to help with the day-to-day maintenance of taking care of so many animals. It's fun, rewarding and the kitties will love it! Call 952 440-3824 to find out more!

Sponsor an Animal
Help Save a Pet Today! Rainbow Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill foster home program for cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. Our focus is the stray and abandoned pet population south of the river. We are succeeding in keeping the pet population down in our community as all our pets are mandatorily spayed or neutered. We work closely with animal control, taking in many that would otherwise have to be euthanized. Our life-saving foster program depends on people like you. Rainbow Rescue receives no local, state or federal funding and is entirely dependent on contributions from people like you to cover our annual operating budget. We work tirelessly to unite over 400 rescued pets each year with the perfect adoptive families. Through the generosity of our supporters like you, we can continue to provide our animals with safe shelter in our foster homes, nutritious food, life-saving vet care, spay or neuter, litter, medications and vaccines and lots of love. Please help our animals in need by making a tax-deductible donation to Rainbow Rescue, PO Box 433, Prior Lake, MN 55372.
