Dogs are STOLEN everyday - have your dog microchipped. Dogs are stolen and end up in stray dog pounds miles from home. If they are not claimed within 7 days they can be rehomed or killed. Hundreds of 'stray' dogs are rehomed or killed every week because their owner cannot be identified. You have no right to claim the dog after 7 days. A microchip can also be used to prove that the dog is yours if ownership is disputed. Click here for more information. Your dog is valuable to you - and to thieves! Dogs and puppies are being stolen everyday. Do not leave your dog tied up outside a shop or leave it in a car! Check how many dogs go 'missing' from gardens! Keep Your Dog Safe Walk your dog on a lead at all times. Do not leave your dog unattended in the garden. It is better not to put your dog in the garden at all as they can become targets. If your dog lives outside you should consider bringing it inside as dogs can easily be removed from locked kennels (see notices below). See the reports below of dogs 'missing' from gardens. Have your dog microchipped. It is likely to be the only way your dog will be returned to you if it is stolen and dumped. Dogs go missing from gardens, often at night. Houses are broken into and the dog is stolen. Dogs are stolen from unattended cars (see notices below). Dogs often go missing the same day that 'travellers' move on. All dogs can be sold or 'held for ransom' so do not assume your dog is not a target. 17th March Chubbs Needs a Home - Wigan, Cheshire.Chubbs is a 13 year old, male cross breed. Click on the picture to see a larger photo. We are devastated to have to do this, but unforseen circumstances with our jobs has forced us to have to find Chubbs a new home. We would like to see him go to a loving home where he can get the love and affection he truely deserves. He never gets bored of being stroked and mollycuddled. He is exceptionally good with our nieces and nephews, ranging in age from 12 months to 8 years old. He has never been in a house with other pets, if anything with his nature I would say he would be scared of another animal as opposed to being a threat. He is a loving family dog and has been brought up with my three year old daughter and a cat. It has been a hard decision to let him go but unfortunately I no longer have enough time for him as I have to care for my nan. 25th January Milo Needs a Home - URGENTI am hoping you will be able to save a life of a lovely dog who is due to be put down on Saturday :( Milo is a castrated 14 months old Dog the Bordeaux X Staffie. Click on the photo to see the full picture. We were looking after him during the day (Mon-Fri) since he was 2 months old. He is a very sociable dog especially with puppies; he loves them dearly and would never hurt them, no matter how agitated and pushy they are. He is weary of new people but once he gets to know them he will be their best companion. Unfortunately his owners did not put enough time and effort into his training, while he was with them, therefore Milo was not listening to them, as well as they were expecting him to. In the end they decided that they can no longer trust him and they are not strong enough to continue like this. They simply informed us that Milo has to be put down as they don`t know anyone to give him away to and they don`t want to keep the dog either. Our hearts are breaking in sorrow to know that if we won`t find a home for our beloved puppet very soon he will simply die for no reason whatsoever :( Unfortunately we cannot keep him for ourselves as we are already filled up with other rescue animals. Please, please help us save this little boy's life. We will be more than grateful if you can contact us in this matter.

17th January Bruce Needs a Home - Brentwood, Essex, UKBruce is a neutered male medium sized English Bull Terrier cross. Click here for a larger photo. He is approx 2-3 years old and has a lovely nature although he is very strong on the lead. He does respond to commands with encouragement. A home with Bull Terrier experience is preferred. He is not suitable for a home with small children as he can be boisterous. He cannot be homed with another male dog. Bruce so needs to find a home a.s.a.p as he is so unhappy at the kennels. He is very friendly so do not be afraid to approach him. We've searched everywhere for him and doing anything we can think of to help find. 15th November Tortoise Sanctuary Needs HelpI am appealing to your goodwill in helping us at the Tortoise Sanctuary. We have been closed now for several months because our local authority is trying to class all the Tortoises as wild animals! We are now struggling for funds to feed them and if every single one of you out there reading this was to donate just £1 to the paypal account on the web site, it will make all the difference to us being able to carry on. 15th November 2010 Lost male Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Oxford.Chaos my 18 month old male Staffy went missing on 25th March 2010 from Oxford. He is dark brindle with a white chest, and one white toe on his right rear leg. There is no white on his other legs. Click on the photo to see a larger version. Click here to see his facebook page. He is advertised everywhere I can think of, and has a crime ref with the police, but have had no sightings or information. After all this time, we are certain someone has him and are trying to keep him, or that possibly he is in a rescue and his chip has not been found.
