NEED SOMETHING TO DO?
Take a dog for a walk! We have a bridle path close to the rescue but it does get muddy and some of the dogs can jump up so wear old clothes and boots. We are open for walking up to 1 hour before we close i.e. from 9am - 3:30pm except Sundays when you have to be at the rescue by 3pm. We do not walk the dogs if it is raining. Phone first to make sure it is OK to walk the dogs then go along and choose your dog. The kennel staff will then put it on a lead for you and give you directions. Come along and visit the dogs. No appointment required during normal opening hours. You can take a dog for a walk, as they much prefer to be out exploring than sitting in a kennel. If you like one enough to take it home with you, we ask you to complete an adoption form and pay the donation that we set depending on the age and the breed of the dog. We recognise that a kennel is not a good environment for a dog, so we will usually release a dog to its new carer immediately subject to conditions required for its welfare. We will require from you documentation to prove that you are who you say you are e.g. a passport, and to prove where you live e.g. a recent gas/electricity/phone bill. Bring this with you in case you see a dog you like! BEFORE RE-HOMING A DOG READ THIS Dogs Requiring New Homes

HOLD means we are waiting for confirmation that a prospective adopter will take this dog. NOTE: Dogs will only be held if the prospective adopter has met the dog and the owner of the rescue has agreed to hold the dog for them and the prospective adopter has paid a deposit. Dogs will not normally be kept 'on hold' for more than 24 hours.
Phone 01344 421490 (11am-4.30pm) for more information about these dogs.
